Social Infrastructure Project: UPS Donation | Contributing to the Community through Corporate Hometown Tax Donations

Hakusan Inc. actively contributes to local communities through donations such as corporate hometown tax donations.
As part of our social infrastructure projects, we have been continuously donating uninterruptible power supplies (UPS) to support power supply during disasters and emergencies.
What is the corporate version of hometown tax donation?
The Corporate Hometown Tax System (Regional Revitalization Support Tax System) is a system that allows companies to receive tax deductions on corporate taxes by making donations to local government projects aimed at regional revitalization.
It is being used as a mechanism to support the resolution of local issues and the creation of sustainable communities by leveraging the technologies, products, and capital that companies possess.
Hakusan Inc. is utilizing this system to promote initiatives that contribute to improving local disaster prevention capabilities and strengthening social infrastructure.
Introducing Uninterruptible Power Supplies (UPS) for Social Infrastructure Projects
Hakusan Inc. is involved in the social infrastructure business, specializing in uninterruptible power supplies (UPS) used as emergency power sources during power outages.
Uninterruptible power supplies (UPS) are devices that maintain power supply even during sudden power outages caused by disasters or accidents, and are used as an important part of the infrastructure that supports social functions, such as disaster prevention bases, public facilities, and medical and communication-related facilities.
Introducing the HU-650 Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS)
The product we have donated is the "Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) HU-650". The HU-650 is compact yet equipped with a large-capacity battery, and can output power even in environments where a 100V power supply is not available, so it can also be used as a portable power supply.

*Product Introduction: Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) "HU Series" | Hakusan Inc.
Its key feature is that it can be used as a UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply) for business continuity planning (BCP) during normal times, and as a portable power supply during emergencies.
Local governments often use them in evacuation centers and community centers, utilizing them as a power source to support disaster response and community activities.

Between September 2024 and March 2026, we donated a total of 502 units to 16 municipalities, mainly in Ishikawa Prefecture.
By installing these devices at disaster prevention centers and public facilities in each region, we will contribute to strengthening disaster prevention and mitigation systems.

Examples of the effects and uses of donations
The donated UPS "HU-650" is being used not only for disaster relief but also for local events.
At the "Iitoko Hakusan Asagao Marathon 2026" held in Hakusan City, Ishikawa Prefecture on March 20, 2026, the UPS "HU-650" was installed as a power source for the smartphone charging area.
One UPS unit, the "HU-650," can simultaneously charge approximately 40 smartphones, contributing to improved convenience for participants and event staff.
Thus, UPS systems serve not only in emergencies but also in normal community activities as a "power source that supports safety and security."

Going forward, Hakusan Inc. will continue to contribute to the safety and security of local communities through its social infrastructure business, under its mission of "supporting the world's infrastructure."
