Enhancing production capacity for optical fiber components (MT Ferrule). Also responding to high added value in anticipation of the spread of AI and 5G.

The April 10, 2024 edition of NIKKEI featured an article about our company's efforts to enhance production capacity for optical fiber components (MT Ferrule) in anticipation of the spread of next-generation AI and 5G.

"MT Ferrule," a necessary connecting part when connecting optical fibers together, are used in data centers of major overseas cloud service companies, and Hakusan 's products hold the second largest market share in the world.

The Noto Peninsula earthquake that occurred on January 1, 2024 caused damage to our production base, the Ishikawa Plant, and operations were temporarily suspended. However, once the plant recovered, production of MT Ferrule resumed in February.

On the other hand, orders remain at a high level due to the increase in data centers accompanying the spread of cloud services and generative AI.
In order to respond to orders that exceed current production capacity, we will be working to increase production capacity at our Ishikawa plant by installing new equipment and hiring new personnel within this year.
In anticipation of the spread of generative AI and the high-speed communications standard "5G," we will improve our supply system with an eye toward adding high added value to our products.

In order to meet the expanding demand, we will work to return the production status at the Ishikawa Plant to that before the Noto Peninsula earthquake as quickly as possible, and aim to increase our production capacity by the end of this year.
