Announcement of our participation in ECOC 2026

— Proposing next-generation Multifiber optical connection technology at Europe's largest optical communications exhibition —

Hakusan Inc. will be exhibiting at ​ECOC 2026 (European Conference and Exhibition on Optical Communication)​, one of Europe's largest international exhibitions in the field of optical communications, held in Malaga, Spain.
This will be Hakusan 's second time exhibiting at ECOC, following their previous appearance.
During our initial exhibition, we received numerous technical opinions and requests regarding Multifiber optical connection technology from data center operators, optical device manufacturers, and optical connector-related companies, primarily from Europe.
Based on that feedback, this exhibition will showcase optical connectivity solutions that are closer to implementation and mass production, with a view to next-generation data centers and CPO (Co-Packaged Optics) applications.

Overview of ECOC 2026

ECOC (European Conference and Exhibition on Optical Communication) is the largest international conference and exhibition in Europe and one of the largest in the world in the field of optical communication.
The event combines an academic conference and an exhibition, bringing together the latest trends in technologies and markets supporting optical communications, including data centers, communication networks, optical devices, photonics, and silicon photonics.
In recent years, in particular, interest in high-density, highly reliable optical interconnect technology has been rapidly increasing, driven by the expansion of generative AI and cloud services. ECOC is positioned as an important platform for technological exchange and business creation in the European market.

Hakusan Exhibition Contents (Planned)

At Hakusan booth, in addition to standard MT Ferrule, we will be showcasing optical connectivity solutions designed for the increasing density of next-generation data centers and AI infrastructure. We plan to exhibit a wide range of products and technologies to meet the demands of advanced optical communication infrastructure.

MMC connector/T MT Ferrule
Multifiber optical connection solution that achieves high density and miniaturization based on MT Ferrule technology. Compared to conventional MPO interfaces, it offers approximately three times the connection density and superior implementability, supporting new connection architectures in hyperscale centers.

Ceramic Multifiber ferrules (CMF®)
Multifiber ferrule made from a ceramic material with excellent heat resistance. It contributes to high-density optical connectivity in next-generation Photonics-Electronics-Convergence fields such as silicon photonics and CPO (Co-Packaged Optics).

Reflow-resistant MT Ferrule (MTHR)
MT Ferrule capable of handling reflow processes in high-temperature environments. They combine the heat resistance and high reliability required in the mounting process of Photonics-Electronics-Convergence devices such as CPO (Co-Packaged Optics), supporting the development of next-generation optical modules.

Narrow-Pitch MT Ferrule (MTDS®)
MT Ferrule features a narrow-pitch design that achieves even higher density compared to conventional designs. We propose it as an optical connectivity solution for next-generation data centers and highly integrated optical devices.

Through these exhibits, we will propose optical connection technologies that encompass design, implementation, mass production, and long-term supply, from the unique perspective of Hakusan, which has been developing MT Ferrule since 1991.
