Regarding the impact of the 2024 Noto Peninsula Earthquake on the Ishikawa factory (second report)

January 9, 2024
Hakusan Inc.

We would like to express our deepest sympathies to everyone affected by the Noto Peninsula Earthquake that occurred on January 1, 2024, and pray for the repose of the souls of those who lost their lives.

We would like to inform you of the following second report as of January 9, 2024 regarding the effects of the recent earthquake whose epicenter was in the Noto region of Ishikawa Prefecture.

The latest confirmed status at the Ishikawa Factory (Wakabadai, Shika-town, Hakui-gun), which is close to the epicenter, is as follows.

  1. About human damage

① We have completed confirming the safety of our employees and have confirmed that everyone is safe. However, there are some areas where communication infrastructure has not been improved and aftershocks continue, so we are continuing to confirm their safety.

② Many employees have evacuated due to damage to their homes, so we are providing support with daily necessities.

③ Due to poor road conditions, we have a limited number of people able to come to work to check the details of the factory.

  2. Regarding factory damage

① We have confirmed that some damage has occurred to the building, and we are working with specialized contractors to make plans for further safety checks and restoration. There is a water outage throughout the town, but we are actively working with the local government to confirm that we can secure water for industrial use.

② Regarding production equipment, we have identified areas that require adjustment in some equipment, and we will continue to check.

  3. Regarding factory operation
We are checking the factory with those who are able to work, so although there are some employees who are working at the factory, the factory itself has stopped operating. We are considering activities for recovery with a limited number of people working.
Therefore, please note that it may take some time for us to respond to your inquiries to the Ishikawa Factory.
For inquiries regarding product shipping, please contact each sales representative.
At the same time, the entire Hakusan company will work together to quickly respond to recovery efforts, including providing recovery support from other locations and temporary production at other locations.

We have received many requests for support from various business partners, and we would like to ask for their cooperation as necessary.
Thank you very much for your offer of support.

We will take measures to resume production as soon as possible, so we appreciate your continued understanding and support. We will update the latest information on this website as it becomes available.
