Hakusan Inc. exhibited at ECOC 2026 (European Conference and Exhibition on Optical Communication), one of Europe's largest optical communications exhibitions, held in Malaga, Spain from September 21st to 23rd, 2026.

What is ECOC?

ECOC (European Conference and Exhibition on Optical Communication) is one of Europe's largest international exhibitions and conferences in the field of optical communication. It is known as a gathering place for the latest technologies and market trends in the industry, including optical communication networks, data centers, photonics, and silicon photonics.

In 2026, the event was held in Malaga, Spain, with 399 exhibitors. Key themes at the venue included high-density optical connectivity, CPO (Co-Packaged Optics), silicon photonics, and next-generation optical interconnects, all driven by the expansion of AI infrastructure. The event was a great success, attracting a record-breaking 9,000 or more visitors (including exhibitors) over three days.

During the conference, in addition to the academic sessions where the latest research was presented, programs such as "Market Focus," which discussed industry trends and technical challenges, and "Product Focus," which introduced the latest products and technological solutions, were held. Numerous lectures were given on the themes of AI infrastructure networks, high-speed optical interconnects, CPO, and silicon photonics, demonstrating that the entire industry is progressing towards higher density, lower power consumption, and higher reliability. In light of these trends, optical connectors are required to support higher density packaging than ever before, as well as heat resistance and mass production capabilities for Photonics-Electronics-Convergence devices, and we realized that the importance of Multifiber optical connection technology is increasing even further.

Contents of Hakusan exhibit

Hakusan exhibited at ECOC for the second time, following last year's event, showcasing Multifiber optical connectivity solutions for AI data centers and next-generation optical communications.
At our exhibition booth, we showcased MMC connectors/T MT Ferrule, ceramic Multifiber ferrules (CMF®), reflow-resistant MT Ferrule (MTHR), Narrow-Pitch MT Ferrule (MTDS®), and other products, proposing optical connection technologies that achieve high density, miniaturization, and heat resistance.
In particular, with the expansion of AI infrastructure and the progress of CPO implementation, interest in high-density optical connectivity and implementation reliability is on the rise, and we were able to engage in active technical exchanges with many visitors.

Results from ECOC2026

During the event, we welcomed many industry professionals, including data center operators, optical device manufacturers, and optical connector manufacturers.
Compared to our first appearance last year, we saw an increase in visitors who were familiar with Hakusan and our technologies, leading to more opportunities for exchanging opinions on specific technical challenges and future development themes. We also reaffirmed the high level of interest in high-density optical connectivity and CPO-related technologies for AI data centers, making it a meaningful exhibition that could lead to new business opportunities and potential collaborations.
Hakusan will continue to contribute to the development of next-generation data centers and optical communication infrastructure as a specialist manufacturer of Multifiber optical connection technology.

Thank you for coming.

Thank you very much to everyone who stopped by Hakusan booth at ECOC 2026.
We will utilize the feedback and requests we received at this exhibition in our future product development and technology proposals, aiming to provide even higher density and more reliable optical connectivity solutions.
Hakusan will continue to contribute to the development of AI data centers, optical communication networks, and Photonics-Electronics-Convergence through MT Ferrule technology and Multifiber optical connection technology that it has cultivated since 1991.
