Hakusan Inc. has joined the Noto HAPS Partner Program.
What is the Noto HAPS Partner Program?
The Noto HAPS Partner Program is led by NTT DOCOMO, INC. and NTT Communications Corporation, and aims to create solutions and use cases that utilize HAPS (High-Altitude Platform Station) in the Noto region of Ishikawa Prefecture.
Features and benefits of HAPS
HAPS is an unmanned aerial vehicle that flies in the stratosphere about 20km above the ground, and is characterized by direct communication with smartphones and IoT devices, high speed, large capacity, and low latency. Utilizing this technology will make it possible to ensure communications in areas where conventional communication infrastructure cannot reach and during disasters.
Program Initiation and Objectives
The Noto HAPS Partner Program will begin on March 3, 2025, and will examine and conduct demonstration experiments on various business models and solutions in preparation for commercial HAPS flights in Ishikawa Prefecture scheduled for fiscal year 2028 or later. The aim of this is to contribute to strengthening communications and promoting local industries.
