Optical connectivity technologies for the AI infrastructure era as seen at Interop Tokyo 2026

Hakusan Inc. exhibited at "Interop Tokyo 2026," which was held at Makuhari Messe from June 10th to 12th, 2026.
Interop Tokyo is one of Japan's largest ICT events, bringing together foundational technologies such as networks, data centers, cloud computing, and AI. It is a leading industry exhibition, with approximately 500 companies participating each year. Over 140,000 people attended the three-day event, creating a lively atmosphere. This was our second time exhibiting, following our participation in 2025, and our aim was to promote our technology to the AI infrastructure market and cultivate new customers.
Introduction of the exhibit contents
At this booth, we showcased our product range utilizing Multifiber optical connection technology, centering on our flagship product, the "MT Ferrule." In addition to high-density compatible products such as MPO connectors, MMC connectors, and T MT Ferrule, we proposed solutions geared towards practical operation, including MPO Push-Pull Boots that improve ease of installation. Furthermore, our "GrinEB connector," an expanded beam type connector that enables contactless optical connection, attracted attention as a technology that can handle liquid immersion cooling environments and garnered significant interest as a solution for next-generation data centers.

Feedback during the event
During the event, we welcomed visitors from a wide range of fields, including IT infrastructure, network, and data center-related companies. In particular, there were numerous technical exchanges of opinions with those involved in the data center and optical communications sectors.
Among the exhibited products, there was significant interest in Multifiber optical connection solutions that support miniaturization and high density, such as MMC connectors and TMT MT Ferrule. This clearly indicates a growing need for higher density and smaller interfaces in addition to conventional MPO connectors.
During the discussions with visitors, it was striking how many questions were raised about the market itself, such as "the future of multifiber optical connector market" and "trends in Multifiber technology in the domestic market."
Within Japan, there are differences in the degree of progress in Multifiber technology depending on the application area. However, in areas such as large-scale AI data centers and those requiring high-density packaging, the importance of Multifiber optical connections continues to increase.

Looking ahead
Leveraging the knowledge gained at Interop Tokyo, we will work to expand our business in the global market and enhance customer value, while contributing to the development of communication infrastructure as a specialized manufacturer of Multifiber optical connections. We also plan to exhibit at next year's Interop Tokyo, where we will further promote our technology and strengthen our relationships with customers.
