[COMNEXT 2025 Exhibition Report] World premiere of 32-Fiber, single-row MTDS®

Hakusan Inc. exhibited at COMNEXT 2025, held at Tokyo Big Sight from Wednesday, July 30th to Friday, August 1st, 2025. At this exhibition, the company exhibited a wide range of MT Ferrule and connector products, including the world premiere of its newly developed 32-Fiber, single-row MTDS®, which achieves high-density connections.

Exhibition overview

We exhibited at "COMNEXT 2025," which was held at Tokyo Big Sight for three days from Wednesday, July 30th to Friday, August 1st, 2025.
This exhibition is one of the largest events in Japan, focusing on next-generation communications technology and bringing together cutting-edge fields such as optical communications, 5G/6G, IoT, and AI. In addition to exhibits, the event also features seminars on cutting-edge technologies, and this year was attended by more than 15,000 people, exceeding last year's attendance.

Exhibition Overview

At our booth, we exhibited the following products and technologies under the theme of "high density, compactness, and heat resistance."

<High density/ Multifiber >

• 32-Fiber single-row MTDS® (Narrow-Pitch MT Ferrule): This new product, unveiled for the first time, uses MT Ferrule with a fiber pitch of 127µm and uses 80µm reduced cladding fiber. It achieves higher density and space savings compared to conventional products.
• Reduced cladding MT Ferrule: Compatible with 80µm reduced cladding fibers, achieving high-density wiring with a fiber pitch of 250µm.

<Miniaturization>

• MTCOMPACT Series: Hakusan 's Very Small Form Factor (VSFF). MTCOMPACT Slim is half the thickness of the standard product, MTCOMPACT Short is half the length of the standard product, and MTCOMPACT Slim & Short is one-quarter the size of the standard product.
• MTCT Connector: A connector for mid-board connection. Reassembly after reflow is possible and it uses MTCOMPACT Slim & Short design.

<Heat resistance>

• Reflow-resistant MT Ferrule (MTHR): Ferrules made from high-heat-resistant materials that can withstand temperatures of 260°C for 10 minutes.
• Ceramic MT Ferrule (CMF®): A ceramic ferrule that can be customized in width, height, and hole design.

<Others>

• Standard MT Ferrule (12/16/24/32/36/48F): Standard configuration compatible with Multifiber fiber connections.
• MPO Housing Kit: Flexible configurations include Push-Pull Boots and 2.0mm round cables.
• Optical waveguide technology: Uses next-generation materials and structures that enable highly efficient transmission of optical signals.

Scenes from the exhibition

The entire exhibition attracted over 15,000 visitors, many of whom stopped by our booth.
In particular, 32-Fiber single-row MTDS®, which was unveiled for the first time, attracted a lot of attention, and many questions were asked about the product's development background and performance.
There was also an active exchange of technical opinions with industry participants, providing valuable feedback for future product development and market expansion.

Based on the reactions received at the exhibition and market trends, we will continue to accelerate our product development.
Furthermore, in order to further increase the recognition gained through this exhibition, we plan to strengthen our technology dissemination and sales activities, and increase our presence within the industry.
