The importance of BCP, learned from companies affected by the Noto Peninsula earthquake

Recently, an interview article about the "Business Continuity Enhancement Plan" was published on the website of the Shikoku Bureau of Economy, Trade and Industry. The interview provides a detailed introduction to the significance of Hakusan Inc. 's plan and its specific initiatives, taking into account the experience of the Noto Peninsula earthquake.

Hakusan Inc. 's Ishikawa Factory suffered major damage in the Noto Peninsula Earthquake that occurred on New Year's Day last year, but was able to quickly recover. Behind this success was a Business Continuity Plan (BCP) that was formulated based on past experience. The formulation of the BCP began following the damage caused by the massive earthquake in 2007, and it is regularly reviewed.

Immediately after the earthquake, the employee safety confirmation system was put into operation and the safety of all employees was confirmed. The factory restoration work was carried out with the support of construction companies and business partners and was completed in the short space of three months. In particular, the large tanks provided by business partners as a countermeasure against water outages were of great help.
